What we do
Developing the Active Listener GFO musicians visit classrooms and camps with interactive, 20–40 minute performances and activities that teach listening skills and spark curiosity. Founded in memory of Lily Kaufman, presented by orchestra educators.
Library Chamber Concerts Free, family-friendly sets at St. Louis Public Libraries – themes range from Halloween spook-songs to global rhythms to winter tales. Intimate settings, short programs, big impact.
School & Camp Visits Hands-on demos, Q&A with musicians, and tailored assemblies that align with classroom goals. We adapt to age, space, and learning objectives.

Summer Young Artists Program – real stage, real orchestra. Since William Schatzkamer started the tradition, dozens of young soloists have launched from our podium.
