Individual Giving

Individual Giving

Because of the generosity of individual donors the Gateway Festival Orchestra is able to present quality symphonic and chamber music through free public concerts, inspire young musicians with opportunities to perform with professional musicians, and gift the gift of classical music to very young listeners. Add your name to the growing list of individual donors who are helping us continue our legacy. Your gift today will ensure the GFO can continue to serve the St. Louis Community for years to come.

The Gateway Festival Orchestra is a non-profit organization with IRS 501(c)(3) status. All donations are deductible as allowed by law. You can make your gift online by credit card or send your check by mail. You can also donate through the PayPal Giving Fund.

William Schatzkamer Young Artists Fund

Every summer young musicians perform solo with our professional orchestra. This tradition was begun by William Schatzkamer, one of the founders of the orchestra and its first conductor and music director. Since then the GFO has introduced many talented young players to the music profession. To acknowledge Maestro Schatzkamer’s vision, the GFO Board established the William Schatzkamer Young Artist Fund to support future Young Artists.

Children’s Outreach Fund

GFO’s first board president, Lily Kaufman, loved great music and kids. In her honor, GFO’s “Developing the Active Listener” program is presented by music educators who are members of the orchestra. Classical music is introduced through engaging, fun activities that teach structure, rhythm, melody, harmony and the expressive qualities of music. The program goes into camps, schools, and day care centers in communities considered to be under-served.
