The Gateway Festival Orchestra is a non-profit organization with IRS 501(c)(3) status. All donations are deductible as allowed by law.
Since the 1960s, a major source of funding for free public concerts in the United States and Canada has been the Music Performance Trust Fund (MPTF). This fund was set up through the recording industry at a time when business was booming. In recent years, disc sales have declined sharply. Therefore, MPTF is able to offer only a small fraction of the help that was available in the past. Grant monies have also dwindled, so we are seeking new fund sources. We have some relatively new ways that individuals can help.
Chair Endowment Sponsorship
Patrons who feel an affinity for a particular musician or instrument are invited to sponsor an orchestra chair with a gift of $500 or more. The chair may be named for one or more individuals, a business or an organization. The name of the benefactor and of the honoree will be listed in the program and printed on the fabric cover of the sponsored chair. Gifts may be given anonymously. For more information, contact Nina Schatzkamer Miller, firstname.lastname@example.org or 618-978-9773.
Ads run for the entire season, and are seen by thousands of audience members. This is a great opportunity for local businesses to reach the public while helping to maintain free public concerts.
