William Schatzkamer Young Artists Fund
Every summer young musicians are given the opportunity to perform as soloists with our professional orchestra. William Schatzkamer, one of the founders of the orchestra and its first conductor and music director, established this tradition which continues to this day. Through it the GFO has introduced many talented young players to the music profession. To acknowledge Maestro Schatzkamer’s vision, the GFO Board established the William Schatzkamer Young Artist Fund to support future Young Artists.
GFO Children’s Outreach Fund
Gateway Festival Orchestra’s first board president, Lily Kaufman, loved great music and kids. In her honor, GFO’s “Developing the Active Listener” program is presented by music educators who are members of the orchestra. The program goes into camps, schools, and day care centers to reach children in the St. Louis area. Presentations such as these are a proven way to encourage active listenership. Gateway continues to seek funding for these vital links to the music future of St. Louis.
This is a great opportunity for local businesses to reach the public while helping to maintain free public concerts. For details please contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
